A few things….
First off, it seems Wayne State University in Detroit is listing a Tally Hall show on June 4th. This is interesting. Seems strange they’d end a May tour in CT and then a week and a half after the end of the tour, go back to MI to play a one-off show. Could there be more? I hope not, because that would only delay recording even more. On the other hand, I should stop thinking in terms of them recording in NYC. Maybe they’re recording in Detroit! I’m not sure. Time will tell. Better follow HITS on Twitter for immediate updates on this and other news! http://www.twitter.com/hiddeninthesand
UPDATE: Tally Hall – 10pm on June 4th, 2009 as part of their Midsummer Nights In Midtown Festival (formerly known as The Detroit Festival of the Arts)
And now for some website news…….
You may have noticed the homepage was revamped a bit. All the feeds are now located in one place, the grey “Here’s the latest” box at the top of the page. There’s a bit more focus on the Google gadgets. They’re not to fill space… they’re to encourage interactivity and community. Have you ever been through HITS and gotten annoyed that there’s a separate login for the forums, the chatroom, the GroupieJournals, etc.? Well, I have. So, much of that will be changing in the future to one single universal login. Your Google account will sign you in to all of that – plus more.
Please join the discussion and leave your feedback on this subject in the HITS Forums.
The GroupieJournals are also going through a name change right now. The FanJournals. Less creepy, right? So you may see both names in different places until the transition is done. Don’t be alarmed.
Finally, on the technical side of things… the FAQ system which is written in old PHP, needs to be upgraded now that HITS is running on PHP5. The new system will have a few new features including the ability to have your own personal login with special permissions to add & edit content. Unfortunately this is one area which may not be able to connect to the Google login, but hopefully further down the line it will be possible.
Remember, I do all this for you, not me! So if there’s something that could be better or you’d just like to say something, please let me know!
