If You're Happy and You Know It is a song sung by Genevieve Goings. It was originally known for being a kind of Nursery Rhyme people would use to indicate when they were feeling particularly gleeful, by slapping two practically identical parts of their body together to produce sound.

Song Meanings[edit]

Nowadays, the song is recognized as being a meme, particularly within the teenage group; as when it is requested "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" teenagers don't clap. This is because they are not happy, due to the fact that they are soon going to be left alone on a sphere hurtling through space at immense speeds, as the heat death of the universe comes ever closer, and even if that does not happen first, then we will almost inevitably destroy ourselves. For our parents are leaving behind us a desolate world of cruel business, the onset of global warming, and tensions greater between nations than ever before. Truly, the world is in crisis.

Trivia[edit]

  • The only company trying to save us from the inevitable destruction of Earth just had it's chairman step down because of... well, you know.
  • The ice caps are melting

Lyrics[edit]

One, two, three.
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.
Well, if you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.
Said, if you’re happy and you know it, and you really want to show it--
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.

If you’re happy.
Well, if you’re happy and you know it, stomp your feet.
Said if you’re happy and you know it, stomp your feet.
If you’re happy and you know it, and you really want to show it--
If you’re happy and you know it, stomp your feet.

If you’re happy, then clap your hands.
If you’re happy, then clap your hands.
If you’re happy, then clap your hands.
I’m happy!

If you’re happy and you know it, bang the drums.
If you’re happy and you know it, bang the drums.
If you’re happy and you know it, and you really want to show it--
If you’re happy and you know it bang the drums.

If you’re happy and you know it, and you really want to show it--
If you’re happy and you know it, bang the drums.
