Time Machine is a song by Rob Cantor and Joe Hawley. Time Machine had been "scrapped" by the band from 2006-2012, as it was deemed "unworkable". It was one of a few songs debuted on 4/8/06 at The Blind Pig when the band played two sets back-to-back for two individual sold-out crowds.

An evolved form of Time Machine is currently available on Hawaii: Part II. It is the 10th track.

Lyrics

Look
Oh look at what you've done now to me
Dead tired and ornery
I'm leaving today, today

Thinking of the way I used to spend the time
I can see that I have overpaid
Past is passed and rather than regret the old
I can live it back the other way

Just look
Oh look at what you've done now to me
Free floating temporally
I'm leaving today, today

I avoid the messiness of misery
Playing in dimension number four
I can get away to any time I like
Space-time's any time and many more

Live the dream with a time machine
You've been waiting forever
But you can make ever wait for you
Do what you want to do

Live the dream with a time machine
You've been waiting forever
You'll have time enough to spend some time alone

Wait
I await for all eternity
Withstanding modernity
Is where we must stay today

Now I know the nature of no urgency
Now I know why now is never gone
Fleeting in this mode of making memories
Keeping up this pace of keeping on

Live the dream in a time machine
You've been waiting forever
But you can make ever wait for you
Do what you want to do

You'll have time enough to spend some time alone
All alone
Time alone

Demo 1 Lyrics

Look
O-oh look at what you've done now to me
All broken and ornery
I'm leaving today

There lies your ride, your light(?) adrift from / a different song
Trying to get it right all afternoon
And I'll meet you at the newly everlasting little bit
When we didn't know, we didn't know the tune

Live the dream with a time machine
You've been waiting forever
Now you make ever wait for you
And what(?) you wanted to do

Live the dream with a time machine
I've been waiting forever
Now I know ever waits for me
Ever so patiently

Demo 2 Lyrics

Seventeen, What a time machine
I've been waiting forever
Now I know ever waits for me
Ever so patiently

Seventeen, for a beauty queen
Is the measure I whether
Now I know ever waits for me
Ever so patiently

Seventeen, for a time machine
I've been waiting forever
Now I know ever waits for me
Ever so patiently

Demo 3 Lyrics

Look
Oh look at what you've done now to me
Dead tired and ornery
I'm leaving today, today

Thinking of the way I used to spend the time
I can see that I have overpaid
Past is passed and rather than regret the old
I can live it back the other way

See look
Just look at when you've done now to me
Free floating temporally
I'm leaving today, today

I avoid the messiness of misery
Working in dimension number four
I can get away at any time I like
Any time I like forever more

Live the dream in a time machine
You've been waiting forever
You can make ever wait for you
Do what you want to do

Live the dream in a time machine
You've been waiting forever
There'll be time enough to spend some time alone

Wait
I await for all eternity
This endless modernity
Forever today I stay

Now I know the nature of emergency
Now I know why now is never gone (Now, now I know why- Now, now I know why- Gone)
Never will I need another memory
Kicking up this pace of keeping on

Live the dream in a time machine
You've been waiting forever
You can make ever wait for you
Do what you want to do

Live the dream in a time machine
You've been waiting forever
There'll be time enough to spend some time alone
All alone, all alone
Time alone
